Constance Slusher Biography
I was born and raised in Granada Hills; a first generation Italian/German American. Hard work, honesty and a love of life was instilled in me from early on. I graduated high school shortly after turning 17, then worked and attended vocational college to become a dental assistant. By attending night school I become a registered assistant (first class offered/graduated in California) and later earned my vocational teaching credentials in the Dental field. I assisted on many dental boards at USC, UCLA, UOP and Loma Linda.
I met David Slusher in August of 1979, who was a 10 year union trained journeyman plumber. We took a short trip to Lake Almanor in Nov 1979 to visit with friends. We fell in love with the entire area immediately. We married in 1980 and moved to Lake Almanor the next day.
I began working with David in our new endeavor at Slusher Plumbing in 1981. Taking calls, delivering materials, contracts and accounting. We opened our first formal shop at 152 Main Street in February of 1983. I worked in the field helping David for 15 years. Though I no longer work hands on in the field, I do have extensive knowledge in all things plumbing related, learning HVAC and Electrical and assist our customers and technicians with providing the best in customer service.
David and I also opened J&D Mini Storage in 1984. I became partners with my parents at the Chester Saloon & Restaurant from 1988 to 1994. We outgrew this location and purchased a new commercial location 681 Main Street.
During my time off I enjoy sports, stage plays, concerts and travel (US, Canada, Mexico and Europe). I am an avid and accomplished cook. David and I have 2 children, David Jr (now our partner) and Simone who resides in Phoenix, AZ and 4 grand children. I was a member of Soroptimist International from 1984 to 1991, becoming president 1988-89. I have invested quite a bit of volunteer/service time in our community, working with the schools, seniors and Boy Scouts. I am a proud Eagle Scout Mom.
